Precious Wood

Elm (Elm-Wood)

Elm (Elm-Wood)

Elm is a hardwood of the ever-green elm tree which has covered Central Europe since more than 10 million years. The Elm-tree reaches a height of up to 35 meters. Due to a fungal disease (elm disease), which inhibits the transport of water in the tree - except for the white elm - the elm nowadays is very threatened.

The wood has a very decorative part reddish-brown, but rather brown grain, which can have a beautiful mirror. Elm dries poorly and is easily broken, but only slightly disappearing. It is a very hard wood, which can be cut and grinded well.

Sometimes also i may be wrong, so please let me know if you should find any mistakes! Thank you for your help!
