Pictures of precious wood
This wood comes from the Latin American genre of "Dalbergia". It is often used in the veneer range, but can be good for turning pieces of jewelry, even in the building of instruments Cocobolo finds it's place. The wood usually has a red-orange to coffee-brown color with strong initialed grain that may be true black. The sapwood is light yellow and is not often used.
Cocobolo is a very hard, coarse-pored wood, but there is no problem in processing. You should work with good suction, since it is known as allergenic.
