Bocote (Mexico Rosewood)
Bocote is a hardwood from South America and is a tree that can grow up to 35 meters height and 1 meter thickness. Bocote is also known as "Rio Grande Rosewood". A timber which, due to its highly decorative structure has unfortunately become very rare.
The wood goes from brown to golden yellow, interspersed with some very irregular grain points of brown to black stripes. Bocote has a fairly high oil content and is very resistant to pests, why it was also used in furniture making. It can be polished very fine and you can work it well (you can perhaps compare it to mahogany). Very decorative and a real eye-catcher.
