Amaranth (Peltogyne paniculata), also called Purple Heart, is a south-american hardwood, which has a strong purple color. The Amaranth tree reaches a height of approx. 30 meters and has an average diameter of about half a meter. The wood is very hard an dense. In addition, amaranth has a high content of resin which makes a nice finish. A very valuable wood which often was used for doors and windows, but as it nowadays is extremely rare, mostly only small pieces are to be found.

Sometimes also i may be wrong, so please let me know if you should find any mistakes! Thank you for your help!
